Hand-Harvested and Naturally Dried

Bird’s Eye Chili is harvested by hand between September and December.

After collection, the chili is sun-dried for up to two weeks, followed by shade drying on mesh shelves for up to another two weeks, depending on weather conditions.

Once dried, the fruits are checked and sorted by size before being transferred for final verification and packaging according to customer orders.

MADAGASCAR BIRD’S EYE CHILI

Small Fruits, Distinctive Character

Bird’s Eye Chili (Capsicum frutescens) is cultivated in Madagascar for its small, pointed fruits. The fruits develop from green to bright red as they mature, with a naturally pungent taste characteristic of this chili variety.

The plant belongs to the Solanaceae family, which also includes tomatoes, potatoes and other cultivated peppers. Its compact fruits are used as a spice to bring heat and flavour to food.
