THE CHARACTER OF CLOVEs

What Makes Cloves Distinctive?

Cloves are valued for their distinctive aromatic character, largely associated with eugenol, their main aromatic compound. This gives cloves their recognisable intensity and makes them an important ingredient in flavour development.

Understanding Our Clove Grades

We offer cloves in several grades and forms to accommodate different sourcing and processing needs.

  • Organic CG1: Whole cloves supplied under the organic designation.

  • Conventional CG1: Whole cloves with tighter physical specifications.

  • Conventional CG3: Whole cloves with defined tolerances for headless cloves, stems and smaller buds.

  • Conventional FAQ: Whole cloves for general commercial requirements.

  • Ground Cloves: A powdered format for applications requiring a finer ingredient.

Every Batch Goes Through Inspection

Before shipment, we check our cloves for appearance, condition and foreign matter.

Our quality control process includes visual inspection, sorting and metal detection.

We assess the cloves for colour, uniformity, physical condition and characteristic aroma. Each batch is re-verified at our warehouse before final preparation and packaging.
